Aim
The aim of this CBRN Emergency Medical Services (EMS) course is to provide EMS responders with CBRN specific response skills, enabling them to safely respond to a suspected incident. Emergency medical responders will be able to provide on-scene care to victims of a suspected CBRN incident.
Objectives
At the conclusion of this course participants will be able to:
- Demonstrate emergency, on-scene treatment following exposure to chemical hazards
- Demonstrate emergency treatment following exposure to biological agents
- Demonstrate emergency, on-scene treatment following an exposure to radiological hazards
- Demonstrate decontamination procedures for non ambulatory victims
- Don and doff PPE Level B and downgrade to Level C as appropriate
- Identify the role of the Medical Branch as part of the incident management structure in a CBRN incident, including Triage, Treatment, Transport and Tracking functions
Methodology
This theoretical and practical course is structured to build incrementally challenging stages where participants are closely monitored and assessed by the instructors for their safety and performance. We maintain a good instructor to participant ratio so that all the participants get the necessary individual attention to master the core objectives of the training curriculum.Â
Course participants
This course is open to civilian and military healthcare personnel, emergency first responders, medical personnel, civil servants working in relevant international organisations providing healthcare services, safety and security officers.

Duration
24 hours (indicative)
The course is delivered over three days of full-time attendance. The training takes place at the Core CBRN Training Facility at the HiddingenTestCenter in Germany or at the client’s healthcare site.
