Aim
The aim of the illicit drugs Foundation course is to provide participants with a sound knowledge and understanding of illicit drugs, the hazards posed by each of the normal classes of materials and the common synthetic routes that maybe encountered.
Learning objectives
At the conclusion of this course participants will be able to:
- Have a basic understanding of the different categories of illicit drugs and the hazards associated with them.
- Recognize the stages of an illicit drug manufacture method
- Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of personal and public protection methods
- Demonstrate knowledge of decontamination
- Demonstrate basic knowledge of on-scene management of an illicit drug related incident.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the basic principles of detection and early identification of illicit drugs and related material
Methodology
This classroom-based course is structured to build a strong foundation in illicit drugs through an incremental series of lectures. We maintain a good instructor to participant ratio so that all the participants get the necessary individual attention to master the core objectives of the training curriculum. This course is a prerequisite for the Practitioner level.
Course participants
This course is open to military personnel, law enforcement, emergency first responders, medical personnel, civil servants working in relevant international organizations, safety and security officers and all other specialists working behind the scenes.

The course takes place at the client’s preferred location or at the HiddingenTestCenter in Germany
